Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys Pregame Analysis

Week 8: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys, and we face another must win game. Again. The Philadelphia Eagles have left no room for error especially when it comes to division match ups. I was feeling very confident about this game, but now have some concerns thanks to Asante Samuel’s very untimely choice to play with the media this week.

Asante Samuel, has voiced his frustrations about Eagles trying to trade him. Saying quote A couple people upstairs might not want me, but who cares. They probably never played football…they’re upstairs playing with a lot of money, playing a little fantasy football ” end quote. I love Asante and am glad we’ve kept him around, but I don’t know if he realizes how detrimental this can be for the team at such a crucial time in the season. Seriously, he’s upset because they thought about trading him? That’s part of the NFL, why is he talking about this now before a HUGE game against Dallas! When he should be getting his head in the game, we don’t have time to worry about hurt feelings. Plus, the fact that the organization has not accepted any trade offers is because they know his value is a lot higher that what other teams were proposing. His timing couldn’t have been worse, but hopefully this won’t effect his play or any other players performance on the field this week.

So if anyone else feels like talking, I got something right here for ya!

Okay, but seriously this game is huge on so many levels and not just because Dallas is our bitter rivals, Luckily we are coming off the bye week where Andy Reid has a perfect record at 12-0. Now looking to make that 13-0. Rob Ryan likes to blitz, so this will be a great test for Vick’s ability to read the blitz and find the hot routes. Dallas Cowboys are coming off a big success in the run game with DeMarco Murray breaking team records, but we do have to account for the fact they were playing the St. Louis Rams. So my question is will Dallas’ run game be an issue for the Philadelphia Eagles defense? Let’s hope not, but what do you think? Philadelphia Eagles have struggled against elite Tight Ends this season, and now we’ll be facing Jason Witten the the 3rd ranked TE in the league. Well, I’m glad that this will be a high pressure game, because we all no that when the stakes get higher Tony Romo’s choke meter goes off the charts.

Like I’ve said before, after the bye week is when the Philadelphia Eagles typically begin to hit their stride. Which means we are usually hot towards the end of the season. Despite all the drama, I see Andy Reid coming out of this maintaining his perfect post bye week record.

For those Dallas Cowboy fans that are thinking of challenging me with a bet. You need to send me a video, I don’t accept bets unless its on camera. That way I know you’re serious. Let’s make this one interesting because this is a big game for both teams.
