How did a girl born and raised in Los Angeles become an Eagles fan?
Well let me explain… growing up in L.A. I’ve encountered a lot of Raiders fans, and I quickly decided that was not the team for me. Therefore, I needed to find a team that fit me.
When I learned the game of football, I didn’t know much about teams and players but noticed when players/coaches stood out. I started following the NFL in 2001. I first noticed Donovan McNabb, he had a goofy funny style that I was really drawn to; probably because he reminded me of myself. Also, I really liked Andy Reid’s calm coaching demeanor.
I had been following the team and the year I officially claimed my fandom was 2002. During week 12 of that season, not only was McNabb injured, but Koy Detmer the 2nd string QB was injured during the game. In comes 3rd string A.J. Feeley to close out the game and then lead us to 4 more victories which resulted in playoff birth and 1st round bye! We ended up losing to the Bucs, but after watching a team fight so hard and do so well with 2nd and 3rd string players I knew this team had heart and I knew I wanted to follow them.
Once I chose my team there was no going back, and have lived through the joys and agonies of being an Eagles fan. At the edge of my seat ready to cheer and ready to boo, win or lose from whistle to whistle.
As a former collegiate athlete, I am very passionate and very competitive and it shows every time I watch a game. My passion has grown exponentially over the years and I would love to connect with more Eagles fans from East Coast to West Coast, so feel free to drop me a line and lets get to know each other

Hi Dehlia, I don’t know much Eagle fans on the west coast. I have been an Eagle fan since Donovan McNabb was there. He was my main reason for becoming an Eagle fan, and I loved the team ever since. I unfortunatly had an off year last year when McNabb was traded for Kevin Kolb to become the new face of the franchise. I’m not trying to hate on him, I believe that he can become a great qb in the future, but he never earned my trust or respect before McNabb was traded. As simple as I can put it, I would rather trust JaMarcus Russell over Kolb. After Kolb got knocked out for the 2nd half of the game against the Packers, Michael Vick stepped in, and I knew the team had far better chances to win with him under center with knowledge of his past success with the Falcons. As I look at it, I was the first person to back Vick up before he even was thought to be a starter again. But I was as suprised as everyone once Vick 2.0, as people have called him, stepped on the field. I’m taking that season as a learning thing for me for the future. I hope to talk more Eagles football with you soon.

I saw the potential and I’m so glad Andy Reid made the right decision to keep him in. I just posted a new video of wk 1 postgame. Hey Deliah, it’s been a while. Sorry for the late response, had been going through a lot outside of football. I’ve been watching your videos and I like what you have been doing, I liked your salsa dance after the Giants game. But yeah, it’s been rough for us this season, not a lot I can say after seeing how this season has gone. But as I told a friend earlier today, I’ll go down with the sinking ship, rather than bail and support another team. Like I said, the “Kolb” incident taught me to be a better fan. I bleed green and I will continue to support this team to the end. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Dehlia. I have been an Eagles fan since the Randall Cunningham days. He was the man but McNabb is the greatest Eagle QB ever.I am from North Carolina and was an Eagles fan way before the Panthers got here. Your site and videos are fantastic, keep up the good work. wow i read your story about how you became an eagles fan and i though i was reading my own, exept that i started liking the eagles back in the 2008 season when they went to the NFC championship against the Az cardinals, but instead of mcnabb being my favorite athlete i love the brutal style of SS Brian Dawkins… I’m from Arizona and yeah I dont like the cardinals at all

You are great. Love your energy and passion for our Eagles. I was on the radio for more than 20 years..part of that journey was in Las Vegas when Randall Cunningham was a college QB at UNLV before he joined the Eagles. We became aquainted and when he got married I got to DJ his 1st anniversary party at the MGM Grand. I have been an Eagles fan for a long while. As its said..”I Bleed Green”.
I lived in Dallas when I did a national radio show..never went to the old Texas Stadium even when our birds were in town. Live in Tampa, Fla..used to be in Ft. Lauderdale and watch games at “The Parrot” the bar featured in the movie from a couple seasons ago.
I know you last name means “happy”.

Hey DehIia, I love your site and your videos, Just wanted to show some love and appreciation for the passion that you show for the Eagles. I’m a die hard Eagles fan living in Corpus Christi, TX and I love showing my Eagles pride in front of all these cowboy fans in Texas!! When I wear my Eagles jersey all they do is give me a dirty look but never have the guts to say anything to me lol and believe me after the game on sunday night, all the cowboy fans were nowhere to be found lol Living in Texas, there aren’t too many other Eagles fans to discuss the team with so I’m glad I discovered your website and videos. I stumbled across your youtube blog when I was looking up footage from a game I had missed and I now look foward to hearing your thoughts about the games every week. I think your story about your fandom of the Eagles is awesome. I totally relate because I am from North Carolina and I encounter Panther fans like crazy but I think the Panthers suck lol! Only my fandom started after I watched thier SuperBowl appearance against the Patriots. I don’t know what it is but after that I just formed an attachment to them that has not been broken till this day. It’s always nice to meet fans from the West Coast cause I don’t see them that often. Hello Dehlia..I love this site you have…I found your site while looking for the curse of billy penn (so called reason with philly sports team have been a bust for years) on youtube…anyways…I’ve been a fan of the eagles since Randall Cunningham days…I’m a little worn out because this team could’ve had a dynasty going by now and it’s frustrating to see teams like The Saints, The Patriots etc. find a way to bring championships to their cities and the eagles just can’t get over the hump…The Eagles will always be my team but I’ll never fully root for them with all my soul because the owner is moron and andy reid is burnt out as a head coach…I look forward to checking with your site and allowing myself to find a way to keep repping for this team!

Saw your video and voted for you. Hope you win, am rooting for you. It’s nice to see a fan out there pushing for their team from so far away. I’m in Tucson, AZ, hoping and wishing my Rams will travel back HOME west to LA. Been a Rams fan ever since 1972, my dad got me into being a Rams fan. I grew up in Orange County, so, I’m a BIG, HUGE LA fan but just not hockey, never got into that.
I’d probably be doing the same thing as you with all your video’s but with my Rams. I would love to see my Rams play in LA, but I wouldn’t wear a STL Rams jersey, I’d wear their ol’ school colors from the LA days.

That’s my team and I am staying loyal to them! Inside its all decked out with the Eagles! Even got me a Go Green Eagles logo in the back window of the truck. Love your site Its pretty epic for sure!

Hey Dehlia, i wanted to know, why didn’t you choose to become a San Fran or Chargers fan, and have you ever been to Philly, and are you a all Philly sports fan, or just an Eagles fan, if so, do u like the Dodgers, Lakers, SF Giants, Padres, LA Kings, and i am really impressed that you’re an avid Eagles fan, i never seen someone being born & raised in a very different city, and not even close proximity, to become a fan of a sports team that they never been to the city or have any association with it, but i am happy that you’re an eagles fan, and really into football, not a lot of females are like you, so hit me back if you get this message.

Hey Terrell! Thanks for the comment I have been to Philly, I’ll be going back again this season, probably for the Bears game. No team has been loyal to LA & I didn’t connect w/ any of the Cali teams, McNabb and BDawk are the reason I fell in luv w/ the Eagles and there was no turning back. I’ve been a die hard ever since. As for other LA teams I’ve been to several dodgers games but don’t really follow other sports like i do football.
