Philly West Bar & Grill – 1870 Westwood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025 (310) 474-9787
Well, I didn’t receive the warm welcome I would have hoped for coming into an Eagles bar decked out in my Philly gear. Arrived there at 9:45 am for the 10:00am game and they were closed. Apparently they open exactly at 10am on Sunday game day. So to kill the 15 minutes, I hopped into the Starbucks right next door to grab a Chai Tea and took some photos.
Once doors opened I was greeted by the manager telling me no outside drinks allowed, but then retracted and said she’ll make an exception this one time. When it came to finding a seat, she said most of the tables were reserved and there is a minimum purchase of $12 per person. So we ended up we ended up sitting at the bar facing the smaller TV, and I was already irritated with the attitude we received, then they told us they didn’t have a breakfast menu. The closest thing they had to breakfast was an egg salad sandwich. The egg salad was not my first choice in things to eat on a Sunday morning, but let me tell you, this was the BEST egg salad sandwich I have ever had and that’s when my attitude turned around. Made fresh to order on a hoagie, it was so delicious! Their Philly Cheesesteak was pretty good too, just needed some cheese whiz. Oh, and don’t get me started on the fries, thick steak cut fries are my favorite! My attitude definitely turned around and I chatted with the manager and bartender a bit, also had some great conversations with fellow Eagles fans and enjoyed sharing hi-fives when the Eagles scored and yelling at the screen every time they screwed up.
There are 5 TV’s, the crowd wasn’t too large, compared to the shack, and there was even a Dallas fan in the bar so don’t be afraid to come in if you are not an Eagles fan.
Things to note:
- 5 TV’s, 1 large screen in the front and 4 more smaller ones mounted at each corner of the bar.
- $12 minimum purchase if you come during game day
- Food is good and prepared fresh to order
- Pricing: Food range is from $4-$6, full bar ranges from $3.50-$5.50
- Good spot to go if you are watching the game with your buddies who are non-Eagles fans
